October is Pastor Appreciation Month. Although we appreciate our pastors every day, we often don’t take the time to tell them how important they are to us.
I am blessed to interact with many pastors through my work with the LWML. Pastors across our country rose to the challenge of shepherding their congregations during a time of uncertainty and fear. Each congregation faced unique challenges. Some pastors adapted easily to online worship format while others used radio and recorded messages to reach their congregations. Some held drive in worship services in the parking lot or led worship outside. Pastor’s wives became technical support, song leaders, or whatever role was needed to make it possible to connect with members.
Thank you to all the pastors who have continued to preach the word, and care for their congregations.
How can you show your appreciation to your pastor during this time? LWML hugs are not encouraged but you can shower your pastor with love. Send a card or give him a gift card for his favorite restaurant. Bake a cake or make a meal to drop by his house. Sew him a purple mask. PRAY for your pastor and his family.
The LWML Rocky Mountain District will be praying for all the congregations in our district beginning soon. Watch for the Facebook post with the churches we are praying for every few weeks and join us in prayer. If you have specific prayer requests for your congregation or pastor send them to email@example.com.
